Dance With Adversity

A friend of mine, Sherry, is a nurse/manager of group homes for the mentally and physically disabled. This is her song, I wrote in admiration of her divine attitude.

Dance with Adversity, - Sherry’s Song

Suffering exits,

to be overcome

to be integrated,

transformed,

and made into fun.

It’s like a dance,

with adversity.

It beckons me step up.

And I can’t resist.

It’s my life,

and my song

(refrain)

Oh I see the suffering,

and I feel the suffering.

I want to make it better,

because it brings me joy.

I feel it’s my purpose,

to dance with adversity,

and turn all the straw

into gold.

So many people,

looking for happiness

outside of themselves

not knowing

that they have it

they block out the blessings

and see only

what’s wrong.

When I see

so many empty souls

I want them all to understand,

they are not hopeless

they are not hopeless . . .

Take my hand,

let’s dance.

(refrain)

So many people

so many people

looking for happiness

outside of themselves

they are not hopeless

they are not hopeless.

Take my hand

let’s dance,

let’s dance. . .

Dance with adversity,

all through the night.

Until I see the sun

come up in your eyes.

Let's Dance.

with adversity.

All through the night.

Until I see the sun

come up in your eyes.
